Sometimes there is just too much to do and I love Eilidh's Cool Beans Desktop. One of the sayings says I keep reading is "Create a Stop List" alongside your "To Do List".
And I am thinking of this as Less-ness lately; with the less is more approach I wonder what we could have more of... More Time... More Money .... More Physical space...
And Hannah with lessness maybe you could grow easier as a human being? :)

I like this post.
More with Lessness...somethings that come to me are... by focusing on what is important and cutting out the trivial or less valid, you get more mental clarity, more joy with an inner calm and outer freedom...

I work from a Super Seven list - each day 7 things that I want to do . That includes meeting friends and social stuff as well as business related "to dos".

7 is enough for me

And - in addition - each day I write down my highlight of that day on the opposite page of my super seven. By the end of the year I will have 365 highlights to look back on and  remember with pleasure.

I like to be my own best friend so I do take time to chill and do "less." esp. of the stuff I don't enjoy very much.
I believe in re-cycling too - so I recyle money and give it to a wonderful woman who is my cleaner. She does something I am very happy to do less of!
And she does the ironing too - Bonus!

So I wonder what your highlight for today has been Jackie? Mine has been two enquiries and three offers of help linked to my referrals and rewards ezine :)
Highlights  - i've been enjoying looking for these each day - very positive activity.

Since I started my Super 7 with highlights I have enjoyed reflecting on the day to remember them. Sometimes they are about spending quality time with somebody , sometimes a compliment, sometimes a chance comment to make me smile and sometimes a business opportunity or result. Lovely, healthy mix.

My highlight today was a new associate recommended me to one of their own clients. Now that is special .

Lessness - less hot air and more positive action...
Be a thermostat in your life not a thermometer. Thermostats automactically maintain te right temperature. In your business and your lofe YOU create the heat or cool it down.

I read this on my colleague's newsletter.
Chris Davidson http://www.professionalspeakersjournal.com/ talks about time stealers:

Learn to say "no" and stop draining energy

Put a plug in your energy drains. You are all given so much energy each day - physical, emotional and spiritual. You can replenish the supply from within with positive, enthusiastic thinking, but your world is filled with people and things who take from you more than they give back.

Start with your home. Get rid of anything that causes clutter. Clothes you haven't worn for over a year; ornaments hiding in the back of closets; junk that accumulates in drawers. Be brutal! All this stuff blocks your energies, so take control again.

At work do the same. Clear your desk and your files of anything that is eighteen months old or more. Archive it all and keep your immediate environment filled only with current, important things.

Don't forget your computer. All computers get filled with junk. It is time to spring-clean your hard drive.

People can be your biggest drain. Some folks just suck out your energy without even knowing they do so. There are many strategies to deal with them, but the most powerful is simply to say, "No!"

I know that Chris takes this policy very much to heart. He is an ex-IBM Director, who still adheres to a clear desk policy every night.

So he is walking the walk and talking the talk. Thanks Chris.

Always have a plan of what you have to do and time to do it. Start with less and work up.
I was at the Nail Parlour today and the time management in this salon was very poor. They were more concerned about money taken at the till rather than customer satisfaction.
There was not enough staff to handle the clients booked so the shop should not have accepted walk-ins.
At the end of the day, their poor time management affected our schedules and made us late for our afternoon appointments. The staff were working flat-out to manage the clients and had no time to take a break. This must eventually have had an effect on their ability to carry out treatments.
The only thing in favour of this nail salon is the budget price, however when you put this against the time spent on the premises you have to question re-booking.
In this case taking more...  meant less to me...

Great story Cat. I find a good story always helps you identify with the message more easily.
Thank you

My customers and customer service is very much at the core of my business.
In December, among other things, I sent hand made Christmas Cards with a personalised message to my clients and gave them all a large tin of chocolates.
I also gave an extra special thank you to the two clients who referred new clients to me in the form of a voucher for a complimentary coaching session.

In a world where e-Christmas cards are starting to become the norm, customers feeling valued with a personal touch far outweighs the environmental or cost benefits of sending a digital card.
